Art, is a form of meditation. To me. It has given me an outlet to find stillness, sense of surrender and a silent voice. In my art, I explore intricacies of human emotion. I explore relationship between rigid geometric symbols and intuitive emotional color scheme. It is interesting for me how conformity to shapes, and “fitting in”(filling in with color), relates to our society’s viewpoint of perfect female figure. In my drawings the process of filling in of color is not perfect, but based on human touch and emotion at the time of painting. Just as in life, all of us have “imperfections”, acting on emotions, which make us unique. I create out of intuition, a process only achieved once the control of mind is surrendered. This is what painting means to me: liberation from perfectionism dominating other parts of my life, a relief.
